Peter Pettigrew, the fourth Marauder and the most vile traitor of today literature (no, that's not Snape). I doesn't like this character very much... But I try to give him his glory as a unique and - somewhat - powerful wizard (is a animagus after all!).

I don't know how much hours it took. I should begin to count them just for fun. I was really anxious with this one. My initial drawing only contained Peter and some rough lines for the rats. I had to do the background in photoshop and since it's not my "cup of tea", I was scared to begin the coloration. So, Peter stay in my computer for a least 1 month before I gave myself a kick and sat before my computer.

So far, I'm please with the result. As I said, this Harry Potter thing is really an excuse to put myself at test. Try to do something different, challenge my old habits. The list of all the remains know Death Eater is still long... but I really intent to finish it. Maybe I'll do another serie in between. Something more easy and quick. The Order of the Phoenix members maybe? Or the students? What do you think?

---------------------------------------------------

Sketch : Pencil/Crayon plomb
Coloration : Photoshop
Hours/Heures : ?? 20? 25???
Model: For the rats/Pour les rats

EDIT 11/07 : I FORGOT HIS SILVER HAND!!!!!!!!! stupid me...

A truly vile character, but as with all traitors, the interesting question is, "What turned him?" He wasn't always a vile traitor; he was once an ordinary, somewhat talentless, not-too-attractive eleven-year-old boy who was Sorted into Gryffindor and became friends with boys who were much more intelligent, attractive, and popular than he was. I offer no excuses for Wormtail’s genuinely evil actions, but it can’t have been fun being the comic relief of the Marauders. It isn’t hard to understand why Peter Pettigrew was less willing to die for his old schoolmate than Sirius Black was for his foster brother.

I just have to say that I agree with what you said and I'm very fascinated of it too, about what could have made Peter to become the traitor. And thus I'm very curious what you would say about a comic I just uploaded about Peter: [link]

I understand if you don't have the time or ignore this, but I would still love to have your thoughts about it.
Thanks!

I left a comment under the comic you linked to.

I'm working on "Marauders by Bab" that deals with his issue. Like my "Snape by Bab" [link] it is based on the poetry and cartooning of W.S. Gilbert. I have no drawings yet (a broken arm is a perfect excuse for procrastination), but I have the poem, based on "Teasing Tom was a very bad boy" from Gilbert and Sullivan's opera "Patience."

Jesting James was a very bad boy;
A well-hexed Sniv was his favorite toy.
But Sniv was safe in the Serpent’s Lair,
While poor dull Peter was always there.
“You’re so thick,” Jamie told poor Pete.
“You’ll be Wormtail; it sounds so sweet.
“Wet yourself while you watch me play?
“Laugh, Worm, laugh!” jolly James would say.
The consequence was, Pete was lost toTALly,
And ended his days as the Dark Lord’s valley (valet).

I have conflated James with Sirius in order to match the intentional simplicity and childishness of Gilbert’s original verse.
